Today en route we saw this remarkable church near Lebanon, CT. Evidence of the importance of religion in Colonial America is constantly apparent with the multitude of churches located here. I could photograph a dozen a day that have captured my fancy.
During lunch our waitress shared with us the existence of a nearby bakery with the best baked goods she’s ever experienced. In business for over fifty years, Arremony’s Bakery was established in 1960. The average traveler would not know what delectable morsels can be obtained here behind very nondescript doors. In fact the pastries we purchased were so good I did not even take time to photograph them before we ate them! You will just have to imagine the best apple turnover and creme filled pastry you have ever had and then multiply that by two-definitely worth the trip to Jewett City, CT. I wonder if they ship?
We passed by Foxwoods Casino again today and again marveled at the size of the casinos here. It did not tempt us to stop in again. We were too full of pastry from Arremony’s Bakery!
