| The dogwood blossom. |
The story goes that when Jesus
was awaiting crucifixion
and when the crosses were being made;
the trees begged God to spare them.
But the Dogwood begged, not for it's life...
but for the life of Jesus.
The Roman soldiers picked the Dogwood.
The Dogwood would only bloom
for a very short time before and after
the date of the crucifixion.

The flower would have four petals
to represent the hands and feet of Christ.
They would be marked with a nail hole
and the shed blood of the Jesus.
And the center of the flower would be
circular and raised to represent
the crown of thorns, placed upon His head.
Today, the Dogwood blooms at Easter
and the flower.... well look for yourself!

Since arriving in Connecticut I have been seeing the beautiful dogwood trees mingling their gorgeous boughs amid the forest's other trees in bright splashes of tender white blossoms. It brings me such happiness to see their beauty and I have been seeking a closeup photo of the actual blossoms. On Monday when we checked into our RV campground I found the perfect opportunity. Here on the shores of their lake was a perfect dogwood tree and of course I captured their precious petals on my camera. The story I knew but a rendition of it comes from another site on the web. I could not have said it better.
Snoopy's Corner:
The RV needed a repair this morning. We got to drive around in the car while it was fixed. It was a really nice sunny day, so I did not mind.
I was planning on driving over to the new campground and Dad let me sit in his lap to try, but we decided we were better off if he did the job. By the way, I like this new park. It is really pretty here even if the internet does not work well so Mom can't write her blog for four days while we are here...
