A big event at Maine campgrounds in July (almost as big as their lobster bakes) is "
Christmas in July" when people decorate their campsites as if it were indeed Christmas. At first it is startling to see such decorations as we pull into parks, but people are having a ball doing it. It may be even less stressful than the "real" holidays when everyone is so busy rushing around shopping, entertaining and doing all the other obligations that go along with the Christmas holidays. Up here in Maine people just seem to be having a great time getting out into the woods with their families and friends to play!
