This and That

We visited one RV park today that is built on the site of an old saw mill.  A remnant of that business remains in the form of a tower like building that the current owners have converted into a unique entertainment venue for children.  They have built a sluice for kids to mine “gems” from bags of dirt they purchase at the RV store.  The gems get washed out from the water flowing through the trough through straining pans.  The stones or arrowheads are placed in the bags of soil by the manufacturer for the kids to find like miners of old.  Clever idea isn't it?  Now just how much fun is that for an eight year old boy or girl to learn about old mining techniques?  The same park is situated on this lake.  What a nice place to camp.

We also saw this beautiful bird house on our trips today.  There are many of these here but I am not certain what type of bird they use them for primarily.  I suspect it may be purple martins, but I have yet to verify it.  More on that later.

We made a trip down to the inlet in Wells to see the beach at the very end of the day.  The cloud filled skies were a beautiful contrast to the sea as the sun was setting.  This is the inlet we can see from the RV park we are staying in called Sea Vu in Wells owned by a really nice lady named Elaine.

Snoopy’s Corner:

The only way I have figured out to keep Mom home is to sleep in her briefcase.  Of course, that only works just so far, then they are out the door for the day.  By the way, Dad’s briefcase has more stuff in it and I tried that too, but it isn’t as comfortable.
