Going West

Today we have officially left New England traveling 183 miles due west through Connecticut and New York to reach just inside the border of Pennsylvania to stay the night in a town called Matamoras. Tomorrow we will drive the rest of the way to Hershey.  I wonder if the aroma of chocolate will greet us as we come down the exit ramp in Hershey?

Jim fared well driving for the first time since his surgery.  The day was beautiful with wispy high clouds set against a lovely blue sky and not a drop of rain in sight.  Tonight we are camped on the Delaware River in Tri-State RV Park-a working man's park with pipeline workers occupying many of the sites and the Interstate roaring beside us.

It will feel strange being out of New England after four months of growing accustomed to the greenery and the shore.  Last night was cold however, with a cold front arriving in Connecticut and for the first time in quite awhile we used the heat when we arose in the RV to take the chill out of the air until the sun warmed the coach.  We could not help but wonder how the couple in the tent in front of us managed?!  Youth does not seem to mind however like old bones mind the cold it appeared as they crawled out of their tent to greet the day.  And so begins our migration south, like the geese who left Seaport ahead of us.
