Jim and I along with his children (Kris and Craig) attended a Renaissance Fair in Crofton, MD today.  Amid costumes of all descriptions portraying Medieval times, we walked among trees that surely could have been mistaken for an imaginary Sherwood Forest on a Fall afternoon with leaves gently swirling down in the light breeze.

Food and souvenir vendors competed with stage shows, jugglers, jousting, jesters and a variety of other entertainers.  The weather was comfortable with sunlight streaming down through the branches of the trees often enough to put everyone in a celebratory mood.  Turkey legs and roasted pig, garlands of flowers around braided hair, swords and knights, long dresses, capes, feathers, fur and hats all inspired the imagination.

Just think of what it would be like to briefly be a time traveler viewing the reality of a Renaissance Fair in the Fall.  I grant you there might be some decided disadvantages without certain modern conveniences, BUT it would be nice to see the dancing and the clothing, hear the music and the singing peeking into the lives of the people of that time. Maybe Angels have the opportunity to do that-traveling to a time and place of their choice and viewing life below them while floating undetected above the participants.  I vote for becoming an Angel.
