Today we toured Masonic Village, a retirement community in Elizabethtown, PA. The property is situated on a hillside and surrounded on two sides by farmland. The property consists of several buildings that were constructed in 1910 and more recent structures that have been added over the years including two apartment buildings in 2008 and right up to construction of duplexes as we visited.
There are six restaurants on the property, an indoor and outdoor pool, a farm market and medical facilities. A gym and hobby rooms are available along with libraries, meeting rooms, gift shops, an auditorium, and a mail room in each building. A formal garden and seven miles of sidewalks are available for walking or sitting and reflecting on any subject of your choice surrounded by nature. A “Veteran’s Park” has been created in the middle of an oak tree forest.
Across the street is an Amtrak Station and shops along with a family medical practice that has been there for fifty years. This amazing place also offers access to shows, continuing education and trips to local attractions. The bus provided by the community will pick you up at your front door! So now let me lead you down the entrance road and through the gardens and parks with a view of some of the buildings:
